The American Corner Debrecen organizes a hiking trip.
Weather permitting, on the 19th of August, American Corner Debrecen’s traditional, end-of-summer hiking trip to and picnic at Zelemér in the framework of the English Conversation Club: Outdoor Edition will happen again. The kick-off topic will be the Hungarian State Foundation Day (the following day, i.e., the 20th of August) and Independence Day (the 250th birthday of the USA on the 4th of July 2026).
In the event of uncertain weather, the decision regarding whether the group can proceed with the hike (or meet in the library instead) will be announced on the American Corner Debrecen Facebook page by 2 pm on Tuesday.
If you feel fit enough (approximately 5 km going out and 4 km coming back) and can arrive at Józsapark Shopping Center (the meeting point is in front of Biker’s Cafe) by 5:00 pm, then you are welcome to come. Alternatively, you can catch up with the group at the Zelemér church ruin, the site of the picnic, at around 6:15 pm.
This is a dog-friendly program, so don’t hesitate to bring your canine companion along.
