2020 wasn’t the best year of all time, but Forum Debrecen had numerous events this year to make it better. Let’s check what happened with us in 2020.
The shopping center broadened with a Xiaomi shop in December. It is the third official Mi Store of Hungary. Xiaomi is the third biggest smartphone brand. The 85-square-meter shop doesn’t sell only phones, but other Xiaomi AIoT products like smart vacuum cleaners.
The lavatories on the minus 1 floor were completely refurbished in the autumn. They have become family-friendly, and a comfortable room for customers with babies has been created too. Every toilet is rim free model, and the faucets have built-in hand dryers.
Forum Debrecen started to give free mouth masks for customers in November. If you want a trendy mask, all you have to do is buy in the Forum stores for a minimum value of 3,000 Forints and show the receipt confirming the purchase at the information desk on the ground floor. And you will receive your gift immediately.
Forum Debrecen practiced charity too. It supported children in the University of Debrecen Kenézy Gyula Teaching Hospital Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Division. The shopping mall provided a venue for the Chocolate Collection Action of the Bihar State Caregivers Association. The iconic shopping center of Debrecen, representing the partners and tenants, planted 30 red maple trees at the Vágóhíd street overpass.
A photo exhibition was organized in October. The one-and-a-half-century sports history of Debrecen traveling exhibition contained 330 photos. The photos of the exhibition were able to be ordered, and the organizers supported the Országos Mentőszolgálat from its proceeds.
There was also a Halloween selfie competition in October. The Forum Debrecen waited for photos on Instagram made in the shopping center and tagged with the hashtag #forumhalloween. The three awarded ones got a chocolate fountain.
On the 60th anniversary of the Debrecen amusement park, the lower level of the Forum was transformed into a mini amusement park in September. There were retro bumper cars and an interactive exhibition of the old games.
A drive-in movie moved into the rooftop parking lot in July. Snacks were available in the buffet, and the following movies were screened, The Gentlemen, Mamma Mia 2, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, Dirty Dancing, Joker, Fifty Shades of Grey, and Bad Boys for Life.
February was a month. There were Carnival, Valentine’s Day, Fórum Challenge, and Chocolate Festival. The Carnival contained costume competition and face painting. The Valentine’s Day was a long weekend event, where Forum Debrecen searched for the dream couple of the year. The Fórum Challenge was an obstacle course where customers over 10 years and 130 centimeters tall could test their skills. The Chocolate Festival was also a long weekend, and it was about chocolate in every quantity.
There were special days with huge discounts in specific shops. They were Black Price Day and JOY-days in November, Glamour-days in summer.
That was the year 2020 in a nutshell. Forum Debrecen is waiting for everyone in 2021 as well.
