The Debrecen District Prosecution Office brought charges against a man of foreign nationality for rowdyism and assault and battery. The man had quarreled with his girlfriend and wanted to prevent her from leaving the scene by taxi.
The accused is a drunken man of foreign nationality studying at the University of Debrecen. He and his girlfriend were on the street near one of the malls on the 1st of July 2020, around 3:30 am. There was an argument between them, so the girl wanted to leave.

The accused’s girlfriend went to a taxi nearby and sat in the left-back seat. The defendant wanted to prevent his girlfriend from leaving, so he grabbed the car door, not letting the girl close it. Seeing this, the driver got out and closed the left back door.
He wanted to leave, but the accused opened the left rear door of the car and then slammed it with great force. Therefore, the victim got out again and called the accused to terms. For this, the man wanted to hit him with his fist, but the driver leaned, so the blow hit his temple.
The victim wanted to start the vehicle again. The incensed accused then opened the right back door of the car and slammed it. The victim then got out of the car again, but he noticed that the accused wanted to kick him, so he lifted his leg, and the kick hit his foot.
As a result of the defendant’s conduct, the victim suffered a minor injury that healed within 8 days.
The accused’s violent behavior was fit for causing outrage and alarm to others, those on the streets. The victim applied to the Debrecen Police Headquarters for the accused to be prosecuted for minor bodily harm too.
