Trams will not run in Debrecen on weekends

The trams will be replaced by buses in Debrecen on weekends.

The municipality of Debrecen ordered changes in several areas to reduce energy costs. Per this, DKV Ltd. has changed the schedule of several of its runs. According to a statement from the transport company,

From the start of the operation on the 14th of January, Saturday, tram service on lines 1 and 2 will be suspended on weekends. Instead of trams, passengers are transported by tram replacement buses marked with 1V and 2V. Buses replacing trams avoid the Piac utca pedestrian zone.

According to the announcement, the change will remain in effect until withdrawn.

To avoid overcrowding, the DKV requests that passengers also use the number 10, 10A, 10Y routes on the Nagyállomás – Egyetem – Doberdó utca route.
