For the 7th year in a row, the DEAC Huszárok Rugby Football Club is donating chocolates and sweets to bring joy to the sick children that will be spending their Christmas in the pediatric ward.

The team was formed on the 1st of October 2012 by trainers Michele Catarinella and Colm O’Keane as SPQR Debrecen Rugby Student Association. It changed on the 1st of September 2014 to Debrecen University Rugby Club. In recent years, it has become part of the DEAC family.
Michele and Colm are both former professional rugby players that met during their medical studies at Debrecen University.
They organized international friendly matches, of which one happened on the 3rd of May 2013 against Terracina Rugby, an Italian club. After that event, the jerseys were changed to black and yellow, with social and technical sponsors.
In 2015, the club was renamed to Debrecen Rugby Football Club. From 2015 the team management was passed from Michele Catarinella to Behrang Mostaan of which:
- Male rugby 7s first squad
- Female rugby 7s
And the management of some events was still organized by the old direction.
Since 2017, the team management has been in the hands of Aenab Hussain, the current president of the team. During his tenure, there has been increased publicity of the team which led to the team being active competitively in many of the short 7s format of the game.
As of 2020, the team participates in the NB 1 (National League 1) in Hungary.
