The Medical Students’ Association of Debrecen (DOE) organizes the Country Distribution Day at 8 pm on the 15th of November (Wednesday) in the Auguszta lecture hall.
To apply for the exchange between 2024 April and 2025 March you need to fill out an online application form correctly, and then you will be able to participate at the country distribution day.
Things you need to do for a valid appliance:
I. valid DOE membership for the current academic year with at least 10 DOE points which is the minimum to offer for a spot. In case your membership is not valid (for example, you haven’t paid the membership for this semester) then you will automatically be disqualified from the Country Distribution Day.
II. have a certificate of active Student Status
III. Include: (in English, for the Hungarian student too)
- Language Exam certificate
- Photocopy of lecture book for all the previous semesters
- Proof of research work, demonstrator activities (these are only for the closed semesters)
- Proof of enrollment
- Copy of Residence Permit and Passport
- ID picture
IV. In case of successful applications, the student must pay 80.000 HUF to cover the incoming cost. 10.000 HUF deposit, which means you must be accurate with the deadlines, cooperative with the coordinators and after the exchange you must write a professional summary in English language in 30 days after your exchange. You must take part on the Pre-Departure Training to get back the deposit as well, which will be held around February 2024, exact date is going to be scheduled later. Finally, you’ll have to fill out the Evaluation Form on the IFMSA website after you came back from your practice.

Don’t forget to bring 80.000 HUF + 10.000 HUF to the Country Distribution Day in cash!
Terms and Conditions:
1. The country allocation will be done within the framework of a General Assembly and based on your number of acquired points. Failure to attend the Country Distribution Day will invalid your application.
2. The student with the most points chooses his or her exchange country first. In case someone else has taken your desired country, you can’t ask that person to step back from it.
3. The announcement of results will be done on the spot.
4. The registration fee is 80.000 HUF, and you must pay at the Country Distribution Day since this is a bilateral exchange between IFMSA local committees. It covers the accommodation costs of the incoming exchange student, their place at the hospital, their feeding and the programs organized for them by the local committee.
5. You need to pay 10.000 HUF as a deposit at the Country Distribution Day also. Overall, you need to bring 90.000 forints in cash with you to the Country Distribution Day in case you’re applying.
6. If the payment is not made by the time set out in the contract, the student’s application will be disqualified.
7. In case you don’t attend the exchange, the amount paid is non-refundable.
8. The deadline for collecting the documents is 11:59 pm on the 12th of November.
9. The Medical Students’ Association can provide just the country, not your chosen cities. The actual city of your exchange is selected by the hosting country’s National Officer of Research Exchange (NORE) or the National exchange Officer (NEO).
10. The visa, travel and insurance related expenses are borne by you, the outgoing exchange student. The association is not responsible for any accidents, injuries, and property loss.
11. After arriving home, the student should hand in a short report in English about the exchange.
12. You must read the Exchange Condition on the www.ifmsa.org website. You must be up to date about your chosen country’s requirement. If you get your country, but you are refused back from the country because you don’t fit in the terms and conditions, the 90.000 forints is non-refundable.
13. When you had registered to DOE you signed the GDPR law, and it is valid on your application too.
14. If you get the country on the Country Distribution Day, you must upload the mandatory documents on IFMSA website until the 3rd of December 2023.
You only need to upload the documents mentioned in the google form. For the Certificate of Student Status, you need to go to the Student Administration Centre, or you need to write them an email.
Look at each country’s exchange conditions at www.ifmsa.org before applying. In case you don’t fit the criteria, don’t apply for that specific country, because your money can’t be refund.
