Intmeme, the favorite meme Instagram page of international students studying in Debrecen shut down on Saturday, 10th of April 2021.
The English-language site has 980 entries (pictures and videos) and 3,305 followers. The average is 314 likes and 6 comments per post. The dbrcn.hu page chose it among the 5 best meme sites in Debrecen last year.
Now, Intmeme bid farewell to the followers for personal reasons after almost 2 fantastic years. The team of four behind the site is no longer able to continue doing memes and focus on doing more ideas for the page.
The full name of the site is International Memes. It contains memes, roasts, epic giveaways, and all the good stuff, as you can read in the description.
One of the founders of the site recalled the beginnings as follows: “2 years ago me [Fadi] and Mr. #2 [Nouman] decide on a previous meeting in volt egyszer to do this page and it’s purpose was to spread joy among us.”
Mr. #3, Aykhan joined the team on the 26th of October 2019, after several post submissions. A month later, Mr. #4, Sanad also affiliated with the team.
The followers were sad, not just in Debrecen. One of them wrote this: “Damn! am gonna miss the page although am not even from Debrecen lol”
Some of their themes: Debrecen, student life, transportation, expats, and flats. Memes about what’s on the TV, the people around us, and whatever kids are talking about these days.
