Photo Competition at the University of Debrecen – My University

If you are a student at the university, feel free to send your best photographs and show us how you see your university.

The Department of Cultural Management and Humanities of the University of Debrecen and its students (henceforth: organizers) in support of Event Co-ordination and Alumni Center of the University of Debrecen and the University of Debrecen University and National Library announce the “Az én egyetemem” (in English: My university) photo competition. The closing date is the 3^rd of December. The announcement of the result will be on the 9^th of December at 2 pm on the Facebook page of the Department (link).

The aim of the competition is that the participating student shows to their fellow students the feeling of being the student of the University of Debrecen, the spirit of the Campus and what means to be a student of this university. Furthermore, it is also important that the alumni show what they felt when they were students.

The photographs meant for the competition (henceforth: entries) will be sent by the organizers to a four-member, independent jury and they will decide on the outcome. Evaluation aspects for entries are the following:

• quality of the entries
• relevancy of the photos
• creativity of the making

The awarded entries will be uploaded to the felveteli.unideb.hu page with the name of the competitor. What is more, they will be exhibited in the gallery of the atmospheric café Volt Egyszer. Moreover, they will be published in the well-known magazine of the university called Egyetemi Élet.

If you are or you have been in a student relationship with the University of Debrecen, apply with your own entry. You can send a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 3 photos. The entries can be made only by phone or camera, but you should write the used technical device after the title. You may vary these devices (that means you don’t have to take all entries by the same tool). The photographs do not have to be up to date, you can also submit your older photo for the competition because of the current circumstances.

In addition to the submitted entries, the name of the applicant, the faculty, the department to which you belong, the major, and the class of the applicant must be indicated. Optionally, you can describe how your entries can be related to the theme of this specific photo competition.

This is not the first photography competition at the University of Debrecen. For instance, there was one in the Faculty of Public Health and another one in the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences and Environmental Management during 2019 where the pictures of the winners were exhibited like in this competition but there were only three members in the juries in both cases.
