November for all the Dads, Brothers, Sons and mates in our lives to support MentsManust, to raise awareness for Prostate Cancer and Mens Health.
Come and find DEAC Huszárok Rugby FC’s and Nigerian Students Association Debrecen’s desk at the Life Science Building (LSB), Section 3 at the University of Debrecen between 9 am and 2 pm on weekdays from the 2nd to the 30th of November to support men’s health. All money generated will be donated to the Ments Manust Charity to help provide PSA screening for men across Hungary.
Since 2008, the MentsManust movement has drawn attention to men’s health and the importance of prostate screening every November. Over more than a decade, MentsManust (Movember Hungary) has grown into the country’s largest organization dedicated to men’s health.
In recent years, the MentsManust movement has expanded its activities beyond November, working actively throughout the entire year. Its goal is to reach as many locations as possible with informational materials and PSA screening tests.
In Hungary, the probability of a man surviving past the age of 65 is only 64% — dropping to 50% among those with a secondary school education — meaning that only 3 out of every 5 men reach their 65th birthday. In contrast, this figure is 80% in Austria. The scale of the problem is further underscored by the organization’s own statistics: one in every five individuals screened showed high PSA levels. This highlights the critical need to promote proper awareness, a healthy lifestyle, and the importance of medical screenings.
