The leadership of the city introduced the Városkártya (City Card) in May 2020, at the start of the coronavirus epidemic.
The Debrecen Városkártya has been expanded with another discount: cardholders can buy their tickets for this year’s Campus Festival at a discounted price – wrote the organizers of the festival on the official Facebook page of the event.

The Városkártya made its debut last year, with great success, as it was claimed by more than 15,000 people in Debrecen in the first year. The pandemic in the first year slightly pushed back the momentum of this plastic card. The list of providers accepting the card was still pretty short in 2020. This year, the Debrecen project has switched to a higher speed, and new accepting places and programs are being announced week by week.
The Városkártya can also be used by Debrecen residents for summer camps.
The city promises significant discounts with which it will be possible to participate in the day camps of the Debrecen Sports Center and MODEM.
announced Diána Széles, the vice mayor of the city, on the 25th of May.
Themed art camps are organized every week from late June to mid-August. Five-day daycare sessions are available at a cost price with Városkártya.

The camp, which also includes three meals a day, costs 12,000 forints per capita instead of 20,000 forints, and 10,000 forints per child instead of 17,000 forints with siblings.
informed Edit Koroknai, Managing Director of MODEM.
The Debrecen Sports Center-Sports School is organizing three types of summer camps this year. Handball, football, and the so-called treasure hunt. Városkártya offers a discount of 5,000 forints out of the 35,000 forints price, which can be validated HERE after a quick registration (with the name and serial number on the card).
We would also like to encourage children and parents to claim the Debrecen Városkártya, which can strengthen their affiliation with Debrecen. Due to the pandemic, a lot of parents had to take days off from work. We can help them with these camps as we provide sports programs under the supervision of a qualified coach, in cultured conditions.
added András Becsky, director of the Debrecen Sports Center.
The organizers are constantly monitoring current epidemiological rules, and several institutions are announcing their camps with smaller groups compared to previous years.
