From the 7th of February, students can use the new Learning Center of the University of Debrecen (UD). The handicap-accessible, multi-functional building between the Main Building and DEAC’s sports facilities, as the name suggests, facilitates individual and group learning. It also serves as a community-building space for students from different nations, considering the specific needs of each culture.
Hungarian and international students of the university can use the Learning Center on weekdays from 7:30 am to 10 pm starting the 2nd semester of the 2021/22 session. So-called quiet spaces have been designated for those who want to read and learn.
From now on, students of UD can learn individually or in smaller groups in the latest conditions of the 21st century, in the 4250-square-meter ground-space Learning Center, which was built from a 3.4 billion Forint investment. The construction began in April 2020, lasted a year and a half, and was transferred in November 2021.
It consists of:
- a central lecture hall for 256 people, an office, a buffet serving food from other continents and other communal areas, a souvenir shop on the ground floor
- community study rooms on the 1st floor
- consultation rooms, rooms suitable for teaching and electronic exams, two chapels on the 2nd floor
- server room and engineering rooms on the 3rd floor
It is planned that there will be various programs for students in the Learning Center in the future.
