The first session of the new season is from 10 am to 12 pm, September 12
The language of instruction is English.
Children can join the club at any time during the year. Each session can be enjoyed independently, making it easy to join in.
Parents are also welcome: while the children take part in the Matinee, parents are welcome to relax in the main lounge with a cup of tea or coffee.
Theme of the September 12 session:
- Discovering the Chinese Language
- Simple expressions, greetings, and counting in Chinese.
Mandarin Board Game Club
Three traditional Chinese games take center stage: mahjong, xiangqi (Chinese chess), and go. All three carry centuries of history, and even today they play an important role in everyday life in China. In parks, teahouses, and family homes, it’s common to see people gathering around them, not only to play, but to chat, relax, and connect.
In the club, you can try these exciting games in a friendly, calm environment, whether it’s your first time or you already have some experience.
Board games also offer a wonderful opportunity to learn Chinese naturally:
- numbers, directions, the names of the pieces, and simple game-related expressions all become familiar during play.
Each meeting of the Mandarin Board Game Club is a small slice of China: community, play, warm conversations, and a touch of culture.

Mandarin Conversation Club
Are you learning Chinese but rarely get the chance to use it? Come along to a relaxed session where you can finally put your Chinese into practice through conversation!
Starting this September, the Mandarin Club is expanding with a new program: Mandarin Conversation Club, a monthly Chinese conversation club for adults at OTT-Home.
This is not a traditional language class. We talk, play games, try out everyday situations, and use the Chinese we already know.
The first session will be about getting to know each other, break the ice with conversation games, and playing “Who Am I?”
The sessions are led by native Chinese teachers who will help you when you get stuck and encourage you to speak as much as possible.
The club is open to both Hungarian and international participants. If you live, study or work in Debrecen or the surrounding area and are learning Chinese at HSK 1 level or above, you’re welcome to join us.
What can you expect?
- relaxed conversations in Chinese
- conversation games and interactive activities
- everyday situations and role-plays
- pair and group activities
- an international community
- and a relaxed Saturday afternoon in Chinese
The first session of the new season is from 3 to 5 pm Saturday, September 19
Participation is free but requires prior registration.
