There are Christmas programs in the American Corner Debrecen (19/D Bem Square) from Wednesday to Friday.
Christmas party for American Studies students and faculty
When?
At 4 pm on the 14th of December (Wednesday).
Are you an English major in the BA program specialized in the American track? Perhaps already a graduate student in American Studies (AS)? Would you like to meet and socialize with fellow AS students and faculty members from the North American Department (NAD)? Then this event is for you!
American Corner Debrecen invites all students in AS and faculty members from NAD to the American Studies Christmas Party.
What to expect: a short presentation on the American Corner, cookies and conversations, games with some great prizes, recognizing our highly appreciated volunteers, and an overall festive atmosphere.

Christmas Movie Night: Deck the Halls (2006)
When?
At 4:30 pm on the 15th of December 15 (Thursday).
The screening of the hilarious Christmas comedy Deck the Halls, starring Matthew Broderick and Danny DeVito, as well as some American and Hungarian snacks. A short discussion of American Christmas traditions will follow the screening.
This event is organized at American Corner Debrecen by FLEX alumni Ildikó Szabó and Kinga Gőz.
Ugly Christmas Sweater Day
When?
At around 3 pm on the 16th of December (Friday).
Stop by at any time during the day for a photo with the Christmas tree at the American Corner and/or the Children’s Library Department. Still, if you can, it is suggested that you come in around 3 pm for a fun group photo and a small Christmas treat courtesy of the American Corner.
It is also your last chance to bring in your donation of a Christmas present (in a shoe box) for children in need, organized by FLEX alumni Ildikó Szabó and Kinga Gőz.
Donation
The FLEX alumni in Debrecen also proposed to organize a collection and donation of Christmas presents for children in need, while American Corner Debrecen is helping with logistics.
You can leave your donated items (preferably in a shoe box with the suggested age group and gender also indicated), such as toys, books, school supplies, etc., at the American Corner until the 15th of December.
