From the 24th of December 2025, DKV Ltd. introduced several changes that benefit passengers, further strengthen the interoperability of public transport and simplify the use, and purchase of passes.
From the 24th of December 2025, scheduled runs of DKV Ltd. are available with a valid Hungary pass and a Hajdú-Bihar County pass, facilitating county and city transport.
From the same date, Hajdú-Bihar County passes can be purchased electronically on the dkvejegy.hu website, at the permanent and temporary ticket offices of DKV Ltd., and at authorized customer service points.
Hajdú-Bihar County passes are valid from the start of service on the selected start date – or, if purchased on the start date, from the time of purchase – until the end of service on the day before the same day of the following month (e.g., from the 7th of January to the 6th of February) and entitle the holder to an unlimited number of trips within the period of validity.
During inspection, the holder must present his or her ID document, Debrecen City Card, or student ID card that was provided when purchasing the pass online. Hungary and Hajdú-Bihar County passes purchased from any other service provider or through other channels are also accepted on DKV Ltd. routes.
Also, from the 24th of December 2025, the valid annual, monthly, and mid-month passes of the DKV Ltd. are accepted in both paper and electronic form on MÁV and Volán services within the administrative boundaries of Debrecen (e.g., MÁV: from the Great Railway Station to the Debrecen-Csapókert station; Volán: from the Bus Terminal to the ATC bus stop on the Böszörményi Street)
Accepted passes include general, student, and senior citizen monthly passes, monthly passes without a photo, electronic monthly, mid-month, and annual passes, as well as passes linked to the Debrecen City Card for families with young children and Junior Debrecen City Cards.
From the 1st of January 2026, the price and appearance of DKV Ltd. vouchers will remain unchanged.
In Hungary, you can buy both a Hungary pass and a County pass to use trains and interurban buses. Hungary has 19 counties. The 19 types of County passes (zone passes) can only be used within the area of the county. The Hungary pass (which costs the same as two county passes) is valid throughout the country on interurban buses and 2nd class trains.
