The Hungarian Journal of English and American Studies (HJEAS) welcomes all to the launch of the 2021 Spring issue to be introduced by Zsolt Győri, issue editor and Professor Ewa Mazierska (University of Central Lancashire) guest editor of the special thematic section on British Seaside Resorts and Their Representation in Literature and Cinema.
HJEAS is devoted to literary and cultural studies concerning the English-speaking world, with a somewhat more marked emphasis on theory. Hungarian Journal of English and American Studies is published twice a year (once in the summer and once in the winter) by the Institute of English and American Studies, University of Debrecen. HJEAS is available worldwide through ProQuest and JSTOR and is indexed by MLA, and invites submissions year-round.
The hybrid launch will be in Room 109 at the Main Building of the University of Debrecen at 1 pm on the 29th of September. You can join online too on WebEx using this link.
The latest issue was published on the 1st of June 2021. It was the first issue of the 27th volume.
The Hungarian Journal of English and American Studies seeks to publish the best of Hungarian and international scholarship and invites articles, interviews, review essays, and reviews in English and American Studies (including Canadian, Australian, Irish, South African, and Caribbean topics), on such varied fields as literature, theatre, visual culture, film, music, art, culture, philosophy, history, religion, and theory.
HJEAS publishes an open access journal, which means that all copy-edited articles are available on the internet to all users immediately upon publication. Publication and submission for authors are free of charge.
