The Alternatív Közösségek Egyesülete, the Dialóg Egyesület, the Populism and Civic Engagement project invite you to a free online chat on Saturday afternoon from 2 pm. You have to register in advance.
Do you want to discuss the condition of democracy in Hungary through the lens of present challenges?
Local Democracy Lab is an online public deliberation event that gathers people across Hungary to discuss their trust in democracy in the time of the Covid-19 pandemic.
It is organized as part of the Populism and Civic Engagement (PaCE) project, an EU-funded research, and innovation program, aiming to understand and address the negative tendencies associated with populism politics. Democracy Labs are organized by the Democratic Society, City of Reykjavik, and Citizens Foundation in collaboration with local partners.
Share your opinion about the condition of democracy and your trust in decisions made by public authorities! This knowledge will feed in the PaCE research findings, and the outcomes will be widely disseminated among policymakers in Europe.
The event will be held online via the Zoom platform and take about three hours. Your discussion will be moderated by facilitators in small groups to encourage meaningful and constructive interactions. Democracy Lab is preceded by idea generation and exchange through the Your Priorities platform.
The organizers encourage everyone to participate, including minorities, people with a migration background, of different educational and professional backgrounds. They strive to ensure gender balance. You are welcome to join if you:
- are at least 16 years old
- live in Hungary
- enjoy sharing ideas and discussing them with others.
Democracy Lab Hungary will be held on the 22nd of May between 2 pm and 5 pm.
