The world’s most popular dance show, Lord of the Dance, created by Michael Flatley, is celebrating its 25th anniversary. On the anniversary, they have started an extraordinary European tour, during which they will also perform in Hungary. The audience can see them in five Hungarian cities, including Debrecen.
“Nothing is impossible. Follow your dreams!” The Lord of the Dance production started with this idea of Michael Flatley, he decided to stage the most enormous Irish dance show. His international fame was brought about by his now legendary 7-minute dance scene presented at the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest, with which he immediately burst into the public consciousness and created the Lord of the Dance production.
The energetic show’s story told through dance, its fantastic choreography, and its outstanding music dazzled audiences worldwide. The performance transcends ages, cultures, and language boundaries, enchants every viewer individually, and transports them into the mythical world.
The production has countless acclaims and has broken theater records worldwide. Since its premiere in 1996, it has been seen by more than 600 million people at more than 1,000 locations in more than 60 countries and has now gone down in history as one of the most successful dance productions in the world.
On the 25th anniversary, fans can see a renewed performance version with breathtaking choreographies, new costumes, and the most modern visual effects. In the dance department, 40 of the best dancers in the world dazzle the audience, directed by Michael Flatley and accompanied by the music of composer Gerard Fahy. The renewed performance combines tradition and novelty at the same time while retaining the radiant power of Irish dance.
“I’m excited to bring the Lord of the Dance show back. I feel that this will be one of the most unforgettable tours in our 25-year history. I trust that the product will touch people’s souls and put a smile on everyone’s face.”
said Michael Flatley.
