My Hungary photo and video competition 2023

The National Union of Students in Hungary (HÖOK) is announcing a photo and video competition organized by the Stipendium Hungaricum Mentor Network (SHMN).

The Photography Competition is to demonstrate through the applicants’ photos what Hungary means to them. This can be a snapshot, landscape, image of a landmark, or their favorite spot in Hungary.

The purpose of the Video Competition is for applicants to show through the applicants’ video submissions what Hungary means to them and how it feels to be here.

Only students studying under the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme may enter submissions for the Competition. You can register until 11:59 p.m. on the 26^th of March, 2023.

Application process:

1. Take a photo or a video on this topic: “My Hungary”!
2. Fill out the application form!
3. Upload your photo(s) (no more than 3) or videos (no less than 2 videos, no longer than 20 minutes) to any platform where the judges can view the submissions (it doesn’t have to be public)!

Submissions submitted will be evaluated by a 5-member professional jury. Based on its own set of criteria, it will present the following prizes to the top three entrants of the various categories.

The winners of the Competition will be notified by the Competition Organizer within 5 calendar days after the evaluation of the submissions via the email address provided upon entry.

The Competition Organizer will inform the winning entrants of the exact time and manner of the presentation of the prizes after the conclusion of the Competition.

Terms and Conditions of Participation:

• The competition is open to non-Hungarian citizens, foreign higher education students studying in Hungary under the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme for higher education students involved in the Stipendium Hungarcium Mentor Programme.
• Upon entering their submission, the Entrant states that they are familiar with the terms and conditions of participation and agrees to be bound by said terms and conditions.
• Upon entering their submission, the Entrant shall consent to the Competition Organizer publishing their name without any further remuneration.
• Photographs entered in the Competition must be min. 3 MB, max. 15 MB in size (in JPG format) and related to the aims and subjects defined in the competition announcement.
• The submission shall include no less than 2 videos of no more than 20 minutes in length, in a resolution of no less than 1920 x 1080 50fps, related to the aims defined in the competition announcement.
• Participation in the Competition is free of charge. The Entrant shall bear any costs of entering the Competition.
• Upon entering their submission, the Entrant states that their submission does not infringe on the rights of others but is not limited to the rights of the persons appearing in the photograph or video. Insofar as the photograph or video recording submitted for the Competition features any persons other than the Entrant, the Entrant must own the consent of the persons featured in the photograph or video, pursuant to Section 2:48 of Act V of 2013 on the Civil Code in relation to the Entrant’s personal use as well its use by the Competition Organizer. The Competition Organizer is entitled to request proof of said consent at any time.
• Upon entering their submission, the Entrant states that they have the appropriate legal basis pursuant to the GDPR for the processing and forwarding of the personal data of persons other than the Entrant appearing in the photograph or video.
• If the winner fails to accept their prize at the time announced by the Competition Organizer, they shall forfeit their right to accept their prize after 15 days of the time indicated for a new opportunity to receive the prize, and the Competition Organizer shall announce a new winner. In this case, the Entrant shall not assert any claims for payments on the Competition Organizer on any account whatsoever.
