On the 25th of March, the music will be loud from 10 am at all eight stations until midnight.
After last year’s success, Made in Debrecen will be held again this year. According to the announcement of the organizers,
nothing shows the success better than that already at the first event on the last Saturday of March last year, almost 120 formations from Debrecen showed themselves, and thousands of people wandered from place to place.
The start was like a dream, which the organizers luckily managed to increase this year. On Saturday, the music will be loud from 10 am at all eight stations until midnight.
It means the application of 160 local bands and 600 local musicians who get twenty minutes of playing time. In addition, many bands – according to their own introductions – were formed specifically under the influence of last year’s tradition-creating Made in Debrecen.
Where did the initiative start?
Made in Debrecen is not an invention from this city. The concept started its journey in Pécs. The point is that the young formations preparing for their first performance and the well-established, even nationally known ensembles show themselves alternately in the various clubs of the city center. This year’s list of venues has changed slightly. Bakelit as an acoustic stage and Stay Beer Bar have also been added to the list, but in addition to Sikk, Incognito, and Régi Csibészek, the places with the largest capacity have also remained: two stages of the Rocksuli in the Youth House and the Roncsbár.
Two guest cities are also represented this year. Marosvásárhely from across the border, and Veszprém, which is the European Capital of Culture this year, will bring three bands each, which will be inserted into the local productions in different time slots.
Veszprém and the region will be represented by
the frontman of Vad Fruttik, Marcell Likó, who will open the Bakelit stage at 10 am. Elsewhere, legendary names wake the city from its slumber: for example, Insane at the Ifiház, the Nyughatatlan duo at Incognito, and the PG Csoport at the Roncsbár will play a slightly longer opening than the average 20-minute show.
The organizers are also waiting for volunteers to apply for various positions by clicking HERE. More details and an exact program list can be found at THIS link.
