For 25 years, World Cancer Day is on the 4th of February. The central campaign theme of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) draws attention to the fact that cancer is more than a medical diagnosis, it is a deeply personal matter. Behind every diagnosis is a unique human story – stories of grief, pain, healing, love and more.
It is also significant what we do to prevent the development of the disease and to recognize possible problems as soon as possible. A healthy lifestyle, regular self-examination, and participation in screenings are essential for the best health results.
On that day, the Hungarian League Against Cancer, in cooperation with the Medical Students’ Association of Debrecen, will organize an all-day, free screening in the FÓRUM Debrecen Shopping Center.
On World Cancer Day, the following screenings and programs will be available free of charge from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with the participation of specialists from the Clinical Center of the University of Debrecen:
- blood pressure measurement
- blood sugar measurement
- body fat percentage measurement
- PSA level measurement (with prior registration, max. 200 people)
- melanoma presentation of screening
- testicular and breast self-examination on models
- consultation with various allied professions dealing with oncology with specialists
