Season tickets on MÁV-Start, Volánbusz, and DKV are valid until the 7th of April. You can’t buy tickets on DKV buses, trolleybuses, and trams from the 6th of April.
The March season tickets purchased for MÁV-Start and Volánbusz are valid for two days longer than usual, until the 7th of April, based on the order of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology.
The purchased monthly and second half-monthly MÁV-Start worker and student season tickets, as well as full-price and discounted point-to-point, and local Volánbusz season tickets are basically accepted by the public transport service providers until the 5th of the following month, which fell on Easter Monday in April – MÁV-Volán-Group Wednesday’s statement.
The validity of the season tickets has been extended so that there is no greater crowd at booking offices after the long weekend. The MÁV-Volán-Group asks passengers to use ticket machines and electronic purchasing options when purchasing tickets and season tickets in order to reduce queuing and personal contacts.
DKV Ltd. is also extending the validity period of the March season tickets – according to their announcement. They wrote:
Due to the Easter holidays and to being consistent with MÁV-Start and Volánbusz, the monthly, second half-monthly, and first-quarter DKV season tickets are valid until the knock-off time on the 7th of April. From the 8th of April, the company will only accept the April monthly, first half-monthly and second-quarter tickets.
They added: the April season tickets can be purchased on the website www.dkv.hu, conveniently from home and in the permanent ticket booths.
DKV has temporarily suspended the ticket purchase on the vehicles.
DKV Ltd., in agreement with the employee federations, has temporarily suspended the ticket purchase on buses, trolleybuses, and trams from the 6th of April. The decision was made by the company to protect the drivers.
DKV also draws the passenger’s attention that it is still possible to travel on runs only with a valid ticket or season-ticket.
Tickets required for the travel can be purchased online through the Public Transport Mobile Ticket application of Nemzeti Mobilfizetési Zrt., from the ticket machines and at the permanent ticket offices.
