Apollo cinema
You can watch feature films with English dubs at the Apollo Cinema (1 Miklós Street) sometimes. There are premier movies (for example, this week: Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga) and events where you can watch movies thematically (for example, Quentin Tarantino Days and Academy Awards Days). A normal ticket costs 2150 HUF or 1950 HUF if you have City Card. A student ticket is 1650 HUF.
American Corner Debrecen
American Corner Debrecen (19/D Bem Square in Méliusz Juhász Péter Library) is a place for exchanging and implementing ideas. The welcoming and cozy environment facilitates engagement and creative thinking. The programs allow learning and challenging worldviews in a safe environment. You can watch movies here for free, followed by discussions.
IEAS Film Club
The Institute of English and American Studies (IEAS) Film Club is a weekly film screening and discussion of remarkable must-see movies and lesser-known ones in English at the University of Debrecen on Tuesdays during every semester. As usual, the screening of the film starts at 6 pm in Studio 111, Main Building at the University of Debrecen, and after the films, there will be a discussion about the movies and the topics addressed.
Association of Alternative Communities
Association of Alternative Communities is a non-profit organization, but they accept donations supporting their work in cash. The Verzió International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival is held by the Association of Alternative Communities, where you can watch documentaries with English subtitles. Baross16 has documentary movie nights where you can also watch documentaries with English subtitles for free and have a discussion afterward.
